Marni Mount is a director, actor, and dramaturg living and working in Naarm (Melbourne).

With a passion for new Australian writing and work that creatively engages with the canon, Marni makes work that is formally inventive, visually imaginative, and unafraid to take on big ideas.

Marni has established a reputation as one if Australia's most promising emerging theatre directors following the breakout success of critically acclaimed world premiere Trophy Boys which she developed and directed, taking the show from a 15-page draft to a sellout national tour.

Marni has worked extensively as an independent director and artist in Naarm, and in her hometown of Canberra. Among others, she has worked with La Mama, Red Stitch Actors Theatre, fortyfivedownstairs, Theatre Works, The Street Theatre, Melbourne Shakespeare Company, Canberra Theatre Centre, Canberra Youth Theatre, Shakespeare by the Lakes, the National University Theatre Society, and Screen Canberra,

Marni was the 2024 Red Stitch Actors Theatre Hansen graduate director, and in 2025 is a part of the Malthouse Artist Development Program at Malthouse Theatre, and the MinterEllison Future Directors Initiative at Melbourne Theatre Company.
